Trump may post lower bond of $175M to cover civil fraud judgment: appellate court

by | Mar 25, 2024

A New York appellate court has granted President Trump the ability to post a reduced bond to cover his $464 million civil fraud judgment.

The Appellate Division, First Department, ruled that Trump can post a bond in the amount of $175 million to satisfy the judgment. The appeals court also ruled that Trump may have an additional 10 days to post the bond.

Trump's legal team had contended that securing a bond for the full $464 million was a “practical impossibility.”
