Appeals Court Keeps Block on Trump Mail Ballot Rule, Supreme Court Still Weighing Case
A federal appeals court on Thursday left in place a lower-court order blocking a U.S. Postal Service rule that would have limited mail voting before the November midterms. The 1st Circuit refused to lift Judge Indira Talwani’s injunction stopping the Postal Service from carrying out the rule tied to President Trump’s March executive order. The Supreme Court is still considering the case.
Justice Department Warns 30 States Not to Destroy 2024 Election Records
The Justice Department sent letters to at least 30 top state election officials telling them not to destroy records from the 2024 election. The letters said those officials “are currently under investigation” and are part of “ongoing litigation.”
