Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz confirmed that Iran’s intelligence chief Esmail Khatib was killed in Israeli strikes targeting senior leadership.
Katz said the operation is part of a broader campaign, warning that “significant surprises are expected across all fronts” as Israel expands actions against Iran and Hezbollah in Lebanon.
He added that he and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have authorized the military to eliminate senior Iranian officials once actionable intelligence is obtained, removing the need for further approval.
