Acting Immigration and Customs Enforcement Director Todd Lyons will leave his post on May 31, Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin announced Thursday.
President Trump appointed Lyons to the role in March 2025. Mullin was confirmed to lead DHS on March 23 following the departure of Kristi Noem.
Lyons told lawmakers in February that ICE made 379,000 arrests and removed more than 475,000 individuals in the administration’s first year. Border czar Tom Homan cited “a record number of removals” and adviser Stephen Miller called him “a phenomenal patriot and dedicated leader.”
