President Trump said Israel carried out a strike on Iran’s South Pars Gas Field, stating the United States had no prior knowledge of the operation while Qatar was not involved and was unaware of the attack.
Trump said Iran responded by targeting part of Qatar’s LNG gas facilities, calling the move unjustified and based on a misunderstanding of the situation surrounding the initial strike.
He warned that no further Israeli attacks on the South Pars field would occur unless Iran launches another strike on Qatar, describing the country as an innocent party in the conflict.
Trump said any renewed attack on Qatar’s LNG infrastructure would trigger a U.S. response to “massively blow up” the entire South Pars Gas Field, adding he does not want to authorize such action but would do so if necessary.
