Special Counsel David Weiss has revealed his report detailing the decisions to charge Hunter Biden but emphasized that Biden’s pardon of his son rendered it “inappropriate to discuss whether additional charges are warranted.”
Fox News obtained a copy of Weiss’s 280-page report following his years-long investigation into Hunter Biden. The Justice Department transmitted the report to Congress on Monday evening.
Hunter Biden was found guilty of three felony firearm offenses stemming from Weiss’s investigation. He was also charged with federal tax crimes for failing to pay at least $1.4 million in taxes. Before his trial, Hunter entered a surprise guilty plea. The charges carried a potential sentence of up to 17 years in prison, but Biden pardoned him in December, canceling his sentencing, which had been scheduled for Dec. 16.
Under Justice Department regulations, Weiss was required to submit his final report to Attorney General Garland. Both the Justice Department and Weiss’s office declined to comment on the matter.
