The Senate voted Tuesday to confirm Pam Bondi as attorney general, placing a close ally of President Trump at the helm of the Justice Department.
Bondi was confirmed in a 54-46 vote, with Sen. John Fetterman of Pennsylvania being the lone Democrat to join all Republicans in supporting her nomination. She will assume the role as the nation’s top law enforcement officer as President Trump vows to dismantle the weaponization of the Justice Department.
