Trial for Trump Assassination Attempt Suspect Delayed to September 2025

by | Dec 23, 2024

Judge Cannon has postponed the trial of Ryan Routh, the suspect in the second assassination attempt on President Trump, until September 2025.

The trial, originally set for February 10, was delayed after Routh’s defense team requested more time to review extensive evidence.

Cannon, based in Florida, approved the delay but rejected the defense’s request to postpone the trial until December 2025, calling it “excessive.” The trial is now scheduled to begin on September 8, 2025.

Routh, 58, faces five federal charges, including the attempted assassination of a major presidential candidate. Routh has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
