President Trump is expected to use a nationally televised address Thursday night to announce newly declassified intelligence reports detailing a foreign nation’s plans to interfere in the 2020 presidential election, according to two White House officials cited by MS NOW.
The officials said Trump will be joined by CIA Director John Ratcliffe, acting Director of National Intelligence Bill Pulte, FBI Director Kash Patel, Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin, and other administration officials.
According to Reuters, citing a Trump administration official, President Trump is also expected to use the address to outline vulnerabilities in voting machines that could allow foreign cyber intrusions into U.S. election systems.
Earlier Monday, Trump announced on Truth Social that he would deliver a “Speech to the Nation” at 9 p.m. Eastern on Thursday but did not disclose the subject of the address.
