Hunter Biden’s tax trial postponed until September

The federal judge presiding over Hunter Biden's criminal tax trial in California has agreed with his attorneys to move the trial from June to September.

United States District Court for the Central District of California Judge Mark Scarsi agreed to postpone Hunter Biden's tax trial after hearing arguments during a pre-trial hearing on Wednesday. Initially set for June 20, the trial will now start with jury selection on September 5. This decision follows a request from Biden's attorneys to delay the trial, which is part of an investigation by Special Counsel David Weiss.

Federal prosecutors opposed the delay, noting that Biden's attorneys had previously agreed to the June 20 date. Meanwhile, Hunter Biden's federal gun charges trial is scheduled to begin on June 3 in Delaware. In this separate case, Weiss has charged him with making false statements during a firearm purchase and possessing a firearm as an unlawful user of a controlled substance. Hunter has pleaded not guilty to these charges.
