U.S. intelligence watchdog memos declassified by Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard reveal internal concerns about the CIA analyst whose 2019 Ukraine complaint helped trigger the first impeachment of President Trump, including findings that parts of the filing relied on hearsay and second and third-hand information.
The documents, obtained by Just the News, show Intelligence Community Inspector General investigators determined the analyst lacked direct knowledge of several key allegations and later acknowledged omissions in his disclosure forms, including incomplete reporting of prior contacts tied to the complaint.
The memos also note the analyst worked with a witness whose identity was redacted, and that the witness had connections to former FBI official Peter Strzok, who was later dismissed over his role in the Russia investigation.
Investigators further raised concerns about potential political bias, citing the analyst’s expressed views and statements reviewed during the inquiry into the complaint.
