Despite his efforts to convince a federal appeals court to suspend his sentence pending appeal, former Trump White House aide Peter Navarro has been directed to start his four-month prison term on March 19 following his conviction on two contempt of congress charges.
Navarro's conviction stemmed from his refusal to comply with a subpoena issued by the now-disbanded House select committee investigating January 6, 2021.
Dr. Navarro has been directed to report to the custody of the Bureau of Prisons, FCI Miami, by 2:00 PM EDT on March 19, 2024, as communicated by his attorney in a legal filing late Sunday.
Navarro reiterated his request for an administrative stay, to allow the Supreme Court to review the denial if the motion is turned down by the court.
