Judge rules Jan. 6 lawsuits against Trump may continue

U.S. District Judge Amit Mehta has ruled that lawsuits filed by members of Congress and police officers against Donald Trump for his ‘actions’ on January 6 may proceed, despite the ongoing criminal case against him in Washington.

Trump's request to pause the lawsuits until the resolution of criminal charges in his election case, brought by special counsel Jack Smith, was rejected by Judge Mehta.
