Russia Invited to Join US-Backed Gaza Peace Board

by | Jan 19, 2026

Russia has been invited to participate in a new US-backed Peace Board proposed by President Trump to oversee post-conflict governance and reconstruction in Gaza, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Monday.

Peskov told reporters that President Vladimir Putin received the invitation through diplomatic channels and said Moscow is reviewing the proposal. “We are studying the details of the proposal. We hope to hold contacts with the US side to clarify all the nuances,” he said, declining to provide further specifics.

Invitations have been extended to a wide range of countries across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, including US allies and key regional players.

The proposed Peace Board would function as an international council tasked with coordinating reconstruction funding, security cooperation, and political coordination in Gaza, working alongside a Palestinian technocratic administration.
