US Hits IRGC Mine Launchers on Larak; Trump Posts AI Video of Kharg “Blown to Smithereens”

U.S. forces struck two IRGC rocket launchers on Larak Island Sunday after they were caught prepping sea-mine rockets for the Strait of Hormuz, the first American strike on Iran since late July.

 

CENTCOM called it a limited, precise hit on an imminent threat. Hours later Trump posted “Kharg Island being blown to smithereens!!!” with an AI-generated video of explosions. Larak Island sits about 410 miles (660 km) east of Kharg, right in the Strait of Hormuz near Bandar Abbas. Kharg is the oil terminal farther west off Iran’s Bushehr coast.

Iran fired ballistic missiles at two U.S. bases in Jordan; Jordan intercepted eight of them. The IRGC said the Larak strike killed and wounded several soldiers and civilians and vowed “response and punishment.”
