Randy Fine Wins Special Election for Florida’s 6th Congressional District

by | Apr 1, 2025

Florida state Sen. Randy Fine (R) has been projected to win the special election for Florida’s 6th Congressional District, a seat that opened after former Rep. Michael Waltz was tapped to be President Trump’s national security advisor.

Weil’s campaign reported raising nearly $10 million last month, significantly surpassing Fine’s fundraising total of just under $1 million. Weil also heavily outspent Fine, allocating approximately $8.2 million compared to Fine’s $895,000.

The district has historically leaned strongly Republican. President Trump and national security adviser Michael Waltz, who previously held the seat, both won the district by over 30 points in November. Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) also represented the district before resigning to run for governor in 2018.
