New Epstein documents released Wednesday include emails from 2015 showing Jeffrey Epstein and Author Michael Wolff discussing ways to potentially blackmail President Trump. The messages show Wolff advising Epstein on how to turn the situation into leverage over the president.
In one email, Epstein tells Wolff, “Trump said he asked me to resign [from the Mar-a-Lago club], never a member ever. Of course he knew about the girls as he asked Ghislaine to stop.” Wolff’s responses focus on advising Epstein how to manipulate the situation for leverage, suggesting he could create a “debt” to Trump.
In another exchange, Wolff tells Epstein that CNN plans to ask Trump about his ties to him. Epstein asks what response they should give, and Wolff advises letting Trump “hang himself,” suggesting that denials or defenses could create either public relations leverage or political debt.
The emails also mention an Epstein victim at Mar-a-Lago. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt identified her as Virginia Giuffre, noting she “repeatedly said President Trump was not involved in any wrongdoing whatsoever and couldn’t have been friendlier” during their limited interactions. Leavitt highlighted that Giuffre reported seeing former President Bill Clinton and former Vice President Al Gore on Epstein’s private island.
Leavitt added that Trump “kicked Jeffrey Epstein out of his club decades ago for being a creep to his female employees, including Giuffre,” calling the email release a “bad-faith effort to distract from President Trump’s historic accomplishments” and government reopening efforts.
