Grassley Urges DOJ and FBI Reveal Hidden Records and Investigate FBI Agent Misconduct

Senator Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) has sent a letter to Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel, urging the Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation to disclose records related to Special Counsel Robert Mueller and the Biden family that may be under “Prohibited” or “Restricted” access.

 

The senator highlighted that certain FBI files, including those from the Crossfire Hurricane investigation, were placed under “Prohibited Access” status, potentially preventing most FBI agents, Congress, and the Inspector General from accessing them. He emphasized that this practice could obstruct congressional oversight and judicial proceedings.

Grassley also raised concerns about Special Agent Walter Giardina’s role in several high-profile investigations, including those involving Peter Navarro, Arctic Frost, Crossfire Hurricane, and Special Counsel Mueller’s probe. Grassley’s office was informed Giardina was the original recipient of the Steele Dossier, falsely claimed it was corroborated, and openly expressed hostility toward President Trump. He’s also accused of wiping his government laptop without following protocol and instructing agents to pursue Trump using baseless Emoluments Clause claims. One of Giardina’s investigations, codenamed Red Maasari, was leaked to the press just months before the 2024 election. He cited whistleblower allegations of Giardina’s misconduct and called for a thorough review of his actions.
