The FBI on Thursday raided the Cleveland offices of the Ohio-based Ohio Organizing Collaborative, an organization that conducts voter registration and community outreach efforts across the state.
According to reports, agents also visited the homes of several current and former staff members, volunteers, and leaders, serving subpoenas and seeking information and electronic devices as part of an ongoing federal investigation. Board member Prentiss Haney said individuals connected to the group, including canvassers and volunteers, were questioned by agents.
The Ohio Organizing Collaborative describes itself as a grassroots organization focused on voter registration, civic engagement, and outreach to underrepresented communities in major Ohio cities, including Cleveland, Columbus, and Cincinnati.
