The Department of Justice announced the arrest of Zubayr Al-Bakoush, an alleged leader of the 2012 attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi.

Attorney General Pam Bondi, FBI Director Kash Patel, and U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro said Al-Bakoush faces charges including murder, terrorism, and arson tied to the attack. Bondi said he will face prosecution in the United States and vowed the Justice Department will pursue those who target Americans anywhere in the world.

Patel said Al-Bakoush was taken into custody overseas but did not disclose where the arrest occurred.
