DOJ refuses to hand over subpoenaed audio of Hur’s interview with Biden

by | Apr 25, 2024

The Justice Department announced on Thursday that it would not provide subpoenaed audio recordings of former Special Counsel Robert Hur's interview with Joe Biden to House Republicans, despite threats from Comer and Jordan to hold Garland in contempt.

The department asserted that its level of cooperation with the congressional investigation had been “extraordinary,” reiterating that it already produced the transcript of Biden's interview with Hur.

Assistant Attorney General Carlos Uriarte stated, “If the Committees’ goal is to receive information from the Department in furtherance of your investigations, that goal has been more than met.”
