U.S., Armenia Sign TRIPP Framework Agreement and Critical Minerals Deal

by | May 26, 2026

Secretary of State Marco Rubio met with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan in Yerevan, where the two announced a bilateral framework agreement tied to the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity, or TRIPP, following President Trump’s 2025 peace summit between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

The U.S. and Armenia also signed a Strategic Partnership Charter and a memorandum of understanding on critical minerals aimed at expanding economic and strategic cooperation between the two countries. Rubio said discussions also focused on the ongoing Armenia-Azerbaijan peace process and Armenia’s upcoming elections.

The agreements advance commitments made during President Trump’s August 8, 2025 peace summit between Armenia and Azerbaijan, which the administration has promoted as part of broader regional stability efforts.
