A senior government source emphasized that the changes should not be interpreted as Trudeau finalizing any decision about his future, noting he is still “reflecting” on his role.
Meanwhile, NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh announced plans to introduce a non-confidence motion in the next House of Commons sitting, stating, “The Liberals don’t deserve another chance.”

- Anita Anand retains her role as Minister of Transport while adding the Internal Trade portfolio.
- Gary Anandasangaree continues as Minister of Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs, with an added role overseeing the Canadian Northern Economic Development Agency.
