President Trump announced he has ordered a continued ceasefire and military blockade on Iran after a request from Pakistani leadership to delay any potential U.S. attack.
In a statement on Truth Social, Trump said the decision came at the urging of Field Marshal Asim Munir and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who asked for time as Iran’s government remains “seriously fractured” and works toward a unified proposal.
Trump said U.S. forces have been directed to maintain the blockade and remain prepared for further action, extending the ceasefire until Iranian leaders present a plan and negotiations are completed.
