Russia’s Defense Ministry reported Wednesday that Ukraine targeted a military airfield in the southern Russian city of Taganrog with six U.S.-supplied ATACMS missiles, vowing to respond to the attack.
The ministry stated that all six missiles were intercepted, but falling debris caused injuries among personnel. “There was no damage, two buildings on the technical territory of the airfield and three military vehicles, as well as civilian cars in the parking lot adjacent to the airfield, were slightly damaged [by shrapnel],” the statement read.
Labeling the incident an attack with “Western long-range weapons,” the ministry warned of retaliation, saying, “This attack will not go unanswered, and appropriate measures will be taken.”
