Peter Navarro begins prison sentence following contempt prosecution

by | Mar 19, 2024

Peter Navarro, a former White House aide to Donald Trump, has reported to a federal prison in Miami, marking a historic moment as the first former White House official to be incarcerated for a contempt of Congress conviction.

Navarro received a four-month prison sentence for his refusal to comply with a subpoena from the bogus House Select Committee “investigating” January 6, 2021.

Navarro said that the legal tactics used against him would be the same used against Trump.

Navarro concluded: “God bless you all, see you on the other side.”

Navarro attempted a last-minute appeal to the Supreme Court in a bid to delay his self-surrender to prison.

His legal team even referenced Anne Gorsuch, the mother of Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch, who was held in contempt by the US House during her tenure as Environmental Protection Agency administrator in the 1980s but was never prosecuted.

Chief Justice John Roberts rejected Navarro's request on Monday.
