Hunter Biden and several family members arrived in federal court in Wilmington, Delaware on Monday for the start of jury selection in the first of two federal trials facing Joe Biden’s son.
This trial, focusing on gun charges, mandates Hunter Biden's presence in court each day and is projected to last up to two weeks. Meanwhile, Biden is also in Wilmington but is not anticipated to attend the court proceedings.
The gun charges against Hunter Biden are linked to a 2018 firearm purchase in Delaware. He is separately facing nine federal charges related to taxes. The trial for the tax case is set to commence in September in Los Angeles, just two months prior to the presidential election.
Update: A jury was seated Monday in the federal gun case against Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, following a selection process where prospective jurors were questioned about their views on gun rights and drug addiction. Jill Biden observed from the front row of the courtroom. Opening statements are scheduled to begin Tuesday after the jurors — six men and six women, along with four women serving as alternates — received instructions from Judge Maryellen Noreika.
