House Republicans Subpoena DOJ for transcript between Joe Biden and Robert Hur

by | Feb 27, 2024

On Tuesday, House Republicans subpoenaed the Department of Justice's transcript of Joe Biden's interview with special counsel Robert Hur.

Hur detailed a five-hour interview with Biden over the course of October 8 and 9 in his report on Biden's handling of classified documents earlier in February. Biden appeared to forget when his vice presidency began and ended, as well as the date of his late son's death, according to the special counsel's report, noting Biden’s diminishing mental state.

Attorney General Merrick Garland was informed of the subpoena by the House Judiciary and Oversight Committees on Tuesday in a letter obtained by the Daily Caller. The committees had previously requested that the DOJ provide the transcript by February 19 at 5 p.m., but the department refused.
