A new House report reveals that nearly 100 illegal immigrants on the terror watchlist have been released into the United States under the Biden administration. The report, first obtained by Fox News Digital, details that Border Patrol encountered over 250 individuals on the watchlist at the southwest border between fiscal years 2021 and 2023. Of these, at least 99 were released into American communities, with an additional 34 still in DHS custody.
The interim report, from Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee, also notes that immigration judges granted bond to at least 27 watchlist migrants who entered illegally. Border Patrol has encountered tens of thousands of migrants from countries with potential national security risks, including 2,134 from Afghanistan, 33,347 from China, 541 from Iran, 520 from Syria, and 3,104 from Uzbekistan.
The report indicates a significant increase in encounters with individuals on the watchlist, up over 3,000% since the Biden administration's start.
The report highlights concerns over the number of potential terrorists who may have evaded detection, contributing to nearly 2 million ‘gotaways’ since the Biden administration began. It cites encounters with migrants from 36 countries with active terror presences, such as Afghanistan, Iraq, and Syria.
Officials have expressed concerns about the risk of terrorists exploiting the southern border, a worry underscored by recent cases of individuals linked to ISIS entering the U.S.
In response, the Biden administration has criticized Republicans for insufficient funding and reforms, while Republicans blame the current crisis on the rollback of Trump-era policies. The Judiciary Committee report urges decisive action to address the national security risks posed by the current immigration policies.
