Grassley: Jack Smith Subpoenaed Over 400 Republicans in ‘Arctic Frost’ Probe

by | Oct 30, 2025

Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) on Wednesday revealed 197 subpoenas issued by former Special Counsel Jack Smith targeting more than 400 Republican individuals and entities in the FBI’s “Arctic Frost” investigation of President Trump.

The subpoenas, obtained through whistleblower disclosures, were sent to 34 individuals and 163 businesses and requested testimony, communications, and financial records, including:

  • Communications with major media outlets such as CBS, Fox News, Fox Business, Newsmax, and Sinclair.
  • Exchanges with members of Congress and White House advisors including Stephen Miller, Dan Scavino, Jared Kushner, and Lara Trump.
  •  Donor and fundraising data, as well as broad financial information on conservative individuals and groups.

Grassley called the investigation “a fishing expedition” and accused partisan FBI agents and DOJ prosecutors of targeting the entire Republican political apparatus. “If this happened to the Democrats, they’d be as rightly outraged as we are,” he said, adding that the subpoenas were being made public to allow Americans to draw their own conclusions.

A full list of subpoenaed organizations and individuals has been compiled by Senate Judiciary Committee staff. View it here.
