The Washington Post disclosed Wednesday that the FBI searched the home of one of its reporters as part of a classified documents investigation involving a government contractor.

According to the paper, agents searched the Virginia residence of reporter Hannah Natanson and seized her phone and a Garmin watch. The search was tied to a probe into a Maryland-based system administrator accused of removing classified reports from secure facilities.

Court filings show the contractor, Aurelio Perez-Lugones, was charged earlier this month with unlawful retention of national defense information. An affidavit alleges he improperly took classified materials home.
