The Justice Department and FBI have concluded there is no credible evidence that Jeffrey Epstein was murdered, blackmailed influential individuals, or maintained a so-called “client list,” according to a two-page memo obtained by Axios.
The administration released both raw and enhanced video footage said to show that no one entered the area of Epstein’s Manhattan jail cell between roughly 10:40 p.m. on August 9, 2019, and 6:30 a.m. the next morning, when he was found unresponsive. The FBI reportedly enhanced the video’s contrast, color balance, and sharpness to improve clarity.
Investigators reportedly found no evidence of a blackmail scheme or any list implicating uncharged third parties. The memo concludes that no further disclosures of Epstein-related material are warranted, citing the sensitive nature of the content, including details of child sexual abuse and the potential for reputational harm to innocent individuals.
“We found no basis to revisit the disclosure of those materials and will not permit the release of child pornography,” the memo states.
The memo also states that Epstein died by suicide in 2019 and that no one else will face charges related to the case.
