A growing crowd gathered Wednesday near the scene of a shooting in Minneapolis in which an ICE agent fatally shot a woman who authorities say attempted to strike officers with her vehicle.

Fox News estimated the crowd numbered between 350 and 375 people as of 2 p.m. local time, with demonstrators chanting “arrest ICE!” while authorities investigated the incident.

Tensions escalated as protesters were seen burning flags in the streets, according to social media posts. Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey faced criticism after being accused of misrepresenting the incident and inflaming unrest, drawing comparisons to his handling of the 2020 George Floyd protests.

President Trump weighed in on the incident in a Truth Social post, saying he reviewed video of the shooting and described the woman involved as “very disorderly,” claiming she violently ran over an ICE officer, who he said appeared to have fired in self-defense. Trump added that the officer is hospitalized and recovering, and blamed the “Radical Left” for escalating attacks on law enforcement and ICE agents, urging the public to stand behind officers carrying out their duties.
