Elon Musk’s xAI has unveiled Grok For Government, a new suite of advanced artificial intelligence tools designed for use across federal, state, local, and national security agencies—launching alongside a newly awarded $200 million ceiling contract with the Department of Defense.
The initiative also marks xAI’s entry into the General Services Administration (GSA) schedule, allowing government agencies across the federal landscape to directly procure its frontier AI products. Grok For Government will offer access to xAI’s most advanced tools, including its flagship Grok 4 model, which features strong reasoning capabilities and deep pretraining, as well as commercial platforms like Deep Search and Tool Use.
xAI says it has collaborated closely with government stakeholders to tailor its offerings to mission needs. In addition to its commercial tools, xAI will provide custom models for national security and scientific applications, forward-deployed support from cleared engineers, and bespoke AI-powered solutions for healthcare, defense, and research. The company also plans to make models available in classified environments and to partner with agencies on co-developing mission-specific systems.
xAI framed the launch as part of its broader mission to advance U.S. technological leadership, stating that Grok For Government is designed to empower public servants and accelerate innovation across critical sectors.
