Trump’s free speech challenge to Georgia election case rejected by judge

In a ruling on Thursday, Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee rejected President Trump's attempt to dismiss criminal charges in Georgia's 2020 election interference case against him.

The judge determined that the indictment suggests statements made by Trump and 14 others accused in the case were made “in furtherance of criminal activity” and thus are not shielded by the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.
