President Trump’s campaign is bolstering its ranks, adding several prominent figures, including former 2016 campaign manager Corey Lewandowski. Lewandowski, who has served as an informal adviser since Trump's first campaign, will join the senior leadership team. He will be joined by other former Trump aides in similar roles.
Campaign insiders describe the new hires as enhancements rather than a shakeup, aimed at strengthening the campaign’s leadership in the final stretch before the election.
Tim Murtaugh, the communications director from Trump’s 2020 campaign, will also be joining the team, along with Alex Pfeiffer and Alex Bruesewitz, former top officials from the Trump-aligned MAGA Inc. super PAC. Bruesewitz is known for his social media following. Taylor Budowich also recently joined from MAGA Inc. in a senior role.
Trump co-campaign managers Susie Wiles and Chris LaCivita praised the new additions, stating, “As we head into the home stretch of this election, we are continuing to add to our impressive campaign team. Corey Lewandowski, Taylor Budowich, Alex Pfeiffer, Alex Bruesewitz, and Tim Murtaugh are all veterans of prior Trump campaigns and their unmatched experience will help President Trump prosecute the case against Kamala Harris and Tim Walz, the most radical ticket in American history.”
Trump’s campaign has a history of leadership changes, having experienced two shakeups in 2016 and one in 2020. However, despite current difficulties, Trump has expressed strong support for his current leadership team, stating to The New York Times that he is “thrilled” with Wiles and LaCivita.
