President Trump has announced the appointment of David Sacks as the White House A.I. & Crypto Czar. Sacks will oversee the administration’s policies on artificial intelligence and cryptocurrency—two sectors seen as vital to maintaining American competitiveness in the global economy.
Sacks will focus on solidifying America’s leadership in both fields, ensuring a framework that encourages innovation while safeguarding key principles like free speech online. A key priority will be addressing concerns about Big Tech, particularly around bias and censorship. Sacks will work to establish a clear legal framework for the cryptocurrency industry, a long-standing request from the sector, to foster its growth within the United States.
Sacks will also lead the Presidential Council of Advisors for Science and Technology, a body tasked with guiding the administration on critical technological advancements.
David Oliver Sacks, a South African-American entrepreneur, investor, and author, brings over 20 years of experience to the role. Currently a general partner at Craft Ventures, a venture capital firm he co-founded in 2017, Sacks has an extensive track record of success in the tech industry. He was the founding COO of PayPal and later founded Yammer, a business social networking service acquired by Microsoft in 2012.
