Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) and Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations Chairman Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) are demanding the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) release all records showing how the Biden administration may have helped advance investigations into President Trump. The two senior Republicans also announced they are opening an inquiry into NARA and its Office of Inspector General over their involvement in those investigations.
In a six-page records request, the senators called for all communications between the Department of Justice, FBI, and Biden White House officials related to President Trump’s election interference case, which originated as the “Arctic Frost” investigation and later became part of Special Counsel Jack Smith’s elector probe. They also requested all communications tied to the investigation into Trump’s alleged mishandling of classified documents.
Grassley and Johnson’s request also seeks internal NARA and Inspector General records related to both Arctic Frost and the classified document probe.
