A Georgia-based group is urging Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger to release the findings of a voter roll audit he initiated earlier this summer. Raffensperger’s office confirmed that the Secretary of State would hold a press conference on Wednesday to announce the audit’s results.
“Millions of illegal immigrants have flooded our country since 2021, and it’s well-documented that thousands have successfully registered to vote in multiple states. But even with early voting now underway, Georgia voters are still waiting for confirmation that non-citizens aren’t casting ballots in our elections,” said former Sen. Kelly Loeffler, chairwoman of Greater Georgia, the organization behind the pressure campaign. The statement was shared exclusively with Fox News Digital.
Raffensperger launched what he described as a “SAVE audit” of non-citizen registrations over three months ago, calling it an essential measure for “maintaining election security and integrity in Georgia.”
“We are double-checking to make sure that if any non-citizens attempt to register to vote, they will not be able to vote unless they prove that they are U.S. citizens,” Raffensperger said in his original announcement. The statement also warned that non-citizens who register face prison terms of up to 10 years and fines as high as $100,000.
Shortly after, Raffensperger told NewsNation that the audit had been completed, assuring residents that “only American citizens are voting” in the state.
However, Loeffler, pointing to similar findings of non-citizen voters in Virginia, Ohio, and Texas, wrote a letter calling for the audit results to be made public.
“If state officials want voters to trust in the process, they must stop delaying the transparency they have repeatedly promised,” Loeffler said. “We call on Secretary Raffensperger to immediately release the full results of this citizenship audit and give voters the peace of mind that only American citizens are deciding American elections.”
Early voting in Georgia runs through November 1.
