President Trump is set to speak at the upcoming Bitcoin conference in Nashville, Tennessee later this month. The conference organizer announced his participation on Wednesday.
Earlier speculation about Trump's appearance grew when speakers informed CoinDesk that their slots had been reassigned to accommodate a “very special guest,” according to an email.
Trump will deliver a 30-minute speech at 2 p.m. CT on the final day of the conference, which runs from July 25-27, a spokesperson for the event confirmed to CoinDesk. His speech will be live-streamed globally from the organizers’ official accounts.
This event marks the first time a US president will directly address the global Bitcoin community, signifying a historic milestone for the industry. Analysts expect Trump’s speech to clarify his vision for the cryptocurrency sector and outline the regulatory measures necessary for its development.
Trump has increasingly embraced Bitcoin and cryptocurrency rhetoric since expressing support for the industry at his NFT gala this spring. He has since integrated pro-Bitcoin policies into the Republican Party platform, presenting a stark contrast to the Biden administration.
His speech at the conference is expected to further cement his self-assigned role as a crypto advocate, despite his previous reservations about the technology during his first term.
