Pentagon Employee Arrested for Allegedly Taking Classified Documents Home

by | Jun 24, 2025

A civilian employee of the U.S. Department of Defense was arrested Monday for allegedly removing and storing classified materials at her home and in her vehicle.

Ewa Maria Ciszak, 64, of Huntsville, Alabama, is accused of unlawfully taking documents marked up to the SECRET level from her workplace at the Missile Defense Agency between February and June 2025. According to federal prosecutors, her position, which began in January 2023, provided her a security clearance and access to classified materials related to the national defense of the United States.

On June 18, agents executed a court-authorized search of her home, vehicle, and person, recovering multiple classified materials, including some in her personal backpack. Prosecutors say she transported the documents directly from MDA facilities to unauthorized locations.
