Andrew Bailey

Republican Attorney General Andrew Bailey initiated legal action against Media Matters for America, alleging “fraudulent business practices.” Bailey accused the left-leaning organization of non-compliance with an investigation launched in December.

Filing the lawsuit in state court, Bailey contends that Media Matters utilized fraudulent means to solicit funds from Missouri residents.

Bailey is pursuing a court order compelling Media Matters to furnish information pertinent to the investigation initiated in December. Additionally, he aims to procure documents and details concerning Missouri residents who contributed to the organization since January 1, 2023, as outlined in a demand letter.

The court documents further allege that the left-leaning group has stated its refusal to cooperate with investigations.
