A federal judge in Georgia has ordered the unsealing of records tied to the FBI’s late-January raid on a Fulton County election facility that resulted in large quantities of 2020 ballots being taken into federal custody.

U.S. District Judge J.P. Boulee directed that the search warrant materials, including the affidavit, be released by Tuesday after both sides said they do not oppose unsealing the case filings. “Although Petitioners originally filed this case under seal, both parties have now indicated to the Court that they do not oppose unsealing the docket or the motions filed by Petitioners,” Boulee wrote.

Boulee added that the government does not oppose releasing the affidavit and related warrant documents with limited redactions. “Respondent has stated that it does not oppose the unsealing of the search warrant affidavit and any other papers associated with the warrant subject to the redaction of the names of nongovernmental witnesses.”

The Fulton County Board of Commissioners, led by Chair Robb Pitts, and the Fulton County Board of Registration and Elections have filed suit against the federal government seeking the return of the seized ballots.
