Georgia Supreme Court Rules Absentee Ballots Must Arrive by Election Day

by | Nov 4, 2024

Absentee ballots in Georgia must be received by Election Day to be counted, following a ruling by the Georgia Supreme Court on Monday.

The Georgia Supreme Court ruled in favor of Republicans on Monday in a case involving over 3,000 absentee ballots that were sent out late in Cobb County.

Although a lower court had extended the deadline for receiving these ballots, the state’s highest court ruled that only those ballots arriving by Election Day would be counted.

This decision reverses the earlier extension and reinforces the existing election deadline.

This is a breaking story and will be updated.
