Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard announced a sweeping crackdown on leaks within the intelligence community, warning that unauthorized disclosures threaten national security and will not be tolerated.
Gabbard, a former Democratic congresswoman who has become a Trump-aligned Republican, was sworn in last month. In a post on X, she declared that politically motivated leaks have become routine without consequences—something she vowed to change.
“We know of and are aggressively pursuing recent leakers from within the Intelligence Community and will hold them accountable,” she stated, listing multiple cases of classified information leaked to media outlets, including reports on U.S.-Russia relations, Israel-Iran affairs, and the National Counterintelligence and Security Center.
Gabbard emphasized that leaking classified material is a violation of law and will be dealt with accordingly.
