A federal judge in Florida approved the Justice Department’s motion to make grand jury transcripts from the initial criminal probes into Jeffrey Epstein publicly available.
On Friday, U.S. District Judge Rodney Smith ruled that the transcripts could be released under a recently enacted law mandating that the Attorney General disclose all unclassified documents connected to Epstein and his associate, Ghislaine Maxwell.
The decision comes after the court previously denied requests to release grand jury transcripts from Epstein’s 2005 and 2007 cases, citing longstanding rules protecting grand jury secrecy.
