FBI Raids Virginia Lawmaker’s Office In Corruption, Marijuana Probe

by | May 6, 2026

The FBI has raided the office of a prominent Virginia Democratic lawmaker and ally of Gov. Abigail Spanberger as part of a federal corruption investigation and alleged illegal marijuana sales, according to federal law enforcement sources.

State Sen. L. Louise Lucas, a longtime Virginia legislator and influential political figure who campaigned for Spanberger during her 2025 run, is now at the center of the probe, sources said.

Agents executed court-authorized search warrants Wednesday at Lucas’ Portsmouth office. Federal agents also searched a cannabis dispensary believed to be connected to her as part of the ongoing investigation.
