The U.S. Department of Justice has served grand jury subpoenas to five Minnesota government offices, including the offices of Gov. Tim Walz, Attorney General Keith Ellison, and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey.

According to sources cited by FOX News, the subpoenas were delivered by the FBI as part of a federal investigation into an alleged conspiracy to coerce or obstruct federal law enforcement. The FBI is seeking records and communications from the offices involved.

The Associated Press also reported that subpoenas were issued to St. Paul Mayor Kaohly Her and officials in both Ramsey and Hennepin counties, with Mayor Jacob Frey’s office ordered to appear at the U.S. federal courthouse at 9 a.m. on Feb. 3.
