The Department of Justice has asked the EU’s General Court for permission to intervene in lawsuits brought by X and Elon Musk seeking to annul the European Commission’s first Digital Services Act penalty against the platform.
In December, the Commission fined X 120 million euros ($140 million). It cited breaches of transparency rules, including the design of the blue checkmark verification system, the advertising repository, and access for researchers to public data.
