Bill Gates Cancels AI Summit Speech After Epstein Document Release

by | Feb 19, 2026

Bill Gates canceled a scheduled keynote at the AI Impact Summit in New Delhi after being named in newly released Epstein documents, according to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

The foundation said, “After careful consideration, and to ensure the focus remains on the AI Summit’s key priorities, Mr. Gates will not be delivering his keynote address,” adding it remains committed to its work in India.

The decision follows Gates’ recent comments expressing regret over his association with Jeffrey Epstein. “Every minute I spent with him, I regret, and I apologize,” Gates said in an interview.

New Justice Department documents included a draft email in which Jeffrey Epstein claimed Bill Gates engaged in extramarital affairs and alleged he helped him “get drugs” and arrange “illicit trysts.” Gates denied the claims. A spokesperson said the records reflect Epstein’s “frustration that he did not have an ongoing relationship with Gates and the lengths he would go to entrap and defame.”
